What is a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle?
Our Certified Pre-Owned and Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicles combine the exceptional experience of owning a luxury vehicle at a pre-owned value with the confidence that comes along with true peace of mind. Can any pre-owned used vehicle be Certified?
No. In addition to holding a clean, non-branded title – confirming that the vehicle has never been recognized as being involved in any serious or incidents or accidents – only eligible pre-owned vehicles that meet our high standards for quality are able to qualify for Certified Pre-Owned status. INFINITI vehicles that are part of our INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned program must be less than five years old, have less than 60,000 miles on the odometer and pass our comprehensive 167-point inspection. To qualify for our Certified Pre-Owned Select program, an INFINITI or non-INFINITI vehicle must be up to ten years old, have less than 100,000 miles on the odometer and pass a rigorous 84-point inspection. Additionally, INFINITI vehicles must not qualify for the standard INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned program.
Where can I purchase a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?
Certified Pre-Owned and Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicles are only sold through participating INFINITI retailers. That’s because INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned and Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicles come together with a Factory Backed Limited Warranty that can only be offered and honored by an authorized INFINITI retailer.
What’s involved in a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle inspection?
All Certified Pre-Owned and Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicles must pass a comprehensive multi-point mechanical inspection. This inspection must be completed at an authorized INFINITI Retailer. A CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ is provided along with a complete INFINITI service history review. Further, any and all reconditioning is handled exclusively with INFINITI-approved parts and processes. Only upon completion of this rigorous inspection process can a car or SUV be labeled as a Certified Pre-Owned or Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicle.
What is a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™?
The CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ is used across the automotive industry to provide a comprehensive listing of a vehicle's accident history, service records and ownership details.
What is the CARFAX® Three-Year Buyback Guarantee?
Each INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned vehicle comes with a three-year CARFAX® Buyback Guarantee – an offer unique within the automotive industry. If the report does not include an existing DMV-issued branded title (such as salvaged, fire or flood damage, or odometer problems), CARFAX® may buy it back for full purchase price. Consider it proof that CARFAX® stands behind the information they provide to INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned buyers. A Buyback Guarantee is not included for Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicles.
What is covered by the INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned limited warranty?
- Engine: Cylinder heads and block and all internally lubricated parts, rocker covers and oil pan, valvetrain, crankshaft pulley and front cover, timing chain and tensioner, oil pump, water pump and fuel pump, fuel injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds, flywheel, seals and gaskets.
- Transmission and Transaxle: Case and all internally lubricated parts, torque converter and converter housing, automatic transmission control module, transfer case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets, clutch cover and housing and electronic transmission controls.
- Hybrid: Traction motor, power converter, inverter unit, reduction gear / transaxle and DC/DC converter.
- Drivetrain: Drive shafts, final drive housing and all internal parts, propeller shafts, universal joints, bearings, seals and gaskets.
- Replacement Parts: Replacement of any part will be made with a new or remanufactured replacement part manufactured by or for INFINITI for use on INFINITI vehicles. If a part is not available from INFINITI, INFINITI may authorize an outside source or a like kind and quality part to be used in the repair.
What is covered by the Certified Pre-Owned Select limited warranty?

- Towing Assistance: Up to $100 towing assistance.
- Car Rental Reimbursement: Up to 5 days car rental reimbursement at a maximum of $50 per day for INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned and INFINITI Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicle owners, and $42 per day for Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicle owners (non-INFINITI brands), for the mechanical breakdown of covered components.
- Trip Interruption Coverage: If a mechanical breakdown of a covered part takes place when you are more than 100 miles from home, you’ll be reimbursed for up to $500 for meals, lodging and alternative transportation.
- Ownership Online: Discover INFINITI content, vehicle information, online bill payment, account information and more through INFINITI’s various online services and offerings.
Are there options for additional extended warranty protection?
Yes. INFINITI offers the Elite INFINITI Extended Protection Plan, which builds on the standard limited warranty coverage to offer:
- Expanded Component Coverage: Elite INFINITI Extended Protection Plan offers additional coverage for electrical, audio/video/navigation, suspension, belts, hoses (power steering, cooling system and brake system) and climate control system.
- Optional Additional Coverage: Up to 8 years / unlimited miles.
- Deductible: $0 deductible for any covered repair.
- Transferability: Enables benefits to be transferred to a new owner should you decide to part with your Certified Pre-Owned or Certified Pre-Owned Select vehicle.
