CS Executive New Syllabus 2022 is applicable from Dec 2023 Exams. From Dec 2024 all ICSI Executive Programme exams shall be held in New Syllabus only.

CS Executive New Syllabus 2023: The New Syllabus shall comprise of seven papers at Executive Programme. The last examination of the CS Executive Programme under the old syllabus (2017) shall be held in June, 2024. From Dec 2024 all ICSI Executive Programme exams shall be held in New Syllabus (2022) only.

The Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India in exercise of the powers vested under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 15 of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 approved the New Syllabus (ICSI Syllabus 2022) for the CS Executive Programmes of the Company Secretaryship Course.

CS Executive New Syllabus 2022 is applicable for Dec 2023 examinations. You may register for CS Executive course under new syllabus w.e.f. February 01, 2023 .

There are 2 Groups comprises of 7 papers in the new syllabus (Syllabus 2022) for the Executive Programme of the Company Secretaryship Course. There are 4 subjects in first Group and 3 subjects are in second Group.

CS Executive Subjects under New Syllabus 2022

ICSI Syllabus 2022 aims to inculcate principles, laws and interpretation at the Executive Level. In this regard, the grouping of Papers under Group-I of the Executive Programme has been done keeping in view the critical aspects of ‘Ease of Learning’; ‘Balancing of Theoretical / Legal and Practical Papers’ and ‘Strengthening of fundamental concepts having relevance in the Papers covered under subsequent Group-II.

The nomenclature of seven papers of the Executive Programme under the new syllabus 2022 are as under:

Mode of Examination: Combination of both 20% case based objective type questions and 80% descriptive questions at all papers at CS Executive Programme except Paper No. 4 i.e. Corporate Accounting and Financial Management which is 100% descriptive.

Duration: 3 Hours (each paper)
Marks: 100 Marks (each paper)

The Candidates of CS Executive New Syllabus 2022 are expected to keep track of and have intelligent grasp of the latest developments in the relevant areas that have taken place up to six months preceding the date of examination.

Pre-Examination Requirement: Students registered under Executive programme under ICSI Syllabus 2022 shall have to successfully complete a Pre-Examination Test to become eligible to enroll and appear in the CS Executive Examinations.

For Switchover from Old Syllabus (2017) to New Syllabus (2022): The scheme of paper-wise exemption to switch over from old syllabus i.e. 2017 to New Syllabus i.e. 2022 syllabus is placed below:

CS Executive New Syllabus 2022 is applicable from February 2023. The Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has approved New Syllabus in the year 2022. The admission for old course of executive programme has been discontinued from February 2023. Therefore, you have to take CS Executive Registration in the new syllabus only.

FAQs on CS Executive New Syllabus

Question-1: Which are the effective dates of implementation of New Syllabus (2022) of Executive Programme Stage?

Answer: You may register yourself in ICSI new syllabus 2022 w.e.f. February 1, 2023. However, if you have already registered in old syllabus (2017) and wants to switch over to new syllabus (2022) then you may convert from April 10, 2023.

Question-2: I am presently under 2017 Old Syllabus of Executive Programme? Am I eligible to switchover to the New 2022 Syllabus of Executive Programme?

Answer: Candidates registered prior to 1st February 2023 will be permitted to appear in the Executive Program Examination under the new syllabus if they so opt. Students are not required to pay any charges for switchover to the new syllabus 2022.

Question-3: Is it true that all Students of Executive Programme 2022 New Syllabus (including those switchover to New Syllabus) is required to successfully complete an Online Pre-Exam Test to become eligible for appearing in the main examinations? Is there any Fee for Pre-Exam after switchover? How do we pay pretest fee?

Answer: Students who have registered under New Syllabus 2022 of Executive Programme shall be required to successfully complete a Pre-Exam Test before enrolling for the main examinations.

Students switching over from Executive Programme old Syllabus 2017 to New Syllabus 2022 shall also be required to successfully completed a Pre-Exam Test to become eligible for enrolling in the main examinations.

Question-4: I had registered in Executive Programme under Old 2017 Syllabus and the Institute has issued Study Materials of Old Syllabus. Please clarify if the Institute will be issuing the Study Materials pertaining to New 2022 Syllabus of Executive Programme if I switchover to the New Syllabus?

Question-7: Inadvertently, I have switchover to new syllabus 2022, please reverse my syllabus to old syllabus 2017?

Answer: Reverse switchover from new syllabus (2022) to old syllabus (2017) is not permissible in any circumstances. That means if you have converted from old to new syllabus than you have to appear in ICSI CS Executive new syllabus only.
